  • Barge Grain Facility
As Provided for Louis Dreyfus Commodities – Rosedale, Mississippi...

  • Phase I of this project consisted of a high-speed loading/unloading facility with the ability to unload 250 semitrucks and load 3 barges per day.  The facility can also dry grain at 12,000 bushels per hour.  Phase II consisted of three large steel bins for long-term storage.

In addition to the above, Younglove also constructed the 37-foot by 72-foot main office, which serves as Louis Dreyfus Commodities’ main grain merchandising office for the Mississippi Delta area.

Size/Capacity:  40,000 bushels per hour inbound truck receiving, 40,000 bushels per hour barge loading, and 2.25 million bushels storage

Younglove’s Services:  Conceptual design, structural engineering, general construction, construction management, slipform concrete construction, equipment installation, tilt-up construction, waterfront construction, and office building

  • Export Grain Terminal
As Provided for Louis Dreyfus Commodities – Port Allen, Louisiana...

  • Younglove completed Phase 2 of a major expansion at the Port Allen, Louisiana, facility for Louis Dreyfus Commodities.  This major expansion included two separate slipform structures—a set of 7 shipping bins and a set of 12 silos 2 rows wide by 6 silos long with a bucket elevator tower incorporated.

Grain is transferred to the shipping bins with a belt conveyor tied in from the existing distributor on the shipping bins completed during Phase 1.  Grain is dispersed to the seven shipping bins through a distributor.  Reclaim of grain is through proportioning gates that feed three belt conveyors.  The three reclaim belts convey grain out of the shipping bin structure and are fed through a two-way gate valve to either a belt conveyor for transfer to ship or a belt conveyor back to rerun.

Grain is transferred and distributed to the silos in the storage annex through a series of belt conveyors and distributors that are tied in from the existing facility.  Reclaim of grain is through proportioning gates that feed two belt conveyors.  The two reclaim belts convey grain out of the storage annex to a series of belts and drag transfer conveyors.  These transfer conveyors feed one new and two existing bucket elevators that tie in to the existing storage and cleaning tower on site.

Size/Capacity:  1,800,000 bushel annex storage and 490,000 bushel shipping bin storage

Younglove’s Services:  Conceptual design, structural engineering, general construction, construction management, slipform concrete construction, and equipment installation

  • Terminal Improvement Project
As Provided for United Grain Corporation – Vancouver, Washington...

  • Younglove provided its turnkey construction services for the United Grain Terminal Improvement Project in Vancouver, Washington, as follows:

    -   Twenty-four 35-foot-diameter by 140-foot-tall concrete silos with a receiving capacity of 3,000 tons per hour and a reclaim/blending capacity of 2,400 tons per hour.  These silos are equipped with 45-degree steel cone hoppers with linear gates and continuous level detection.

    -   Three 80-foot-diameter by 140-foot-tall flat bottom concrete silos with a receiving capacity of 1,500 tons per hour and a reclaim/blending capacity of 800 tons per hour.  These silos are equipped with temperature detection, linear gates, continuous level detection, and Laidig bin sweeps.

    -   A unique 340-foot-tall concrete slipform tower/silo complex designed to house the cleaning, weighing tower, and shipping bins all in one structure due to space limitation and to minimize grain breakage.  The tower consists of 1,800-ton-per-hour cleaning capacity for corn and soybeans, 2,400-ton-per-hour weighing capacity, 265,000 bushels of concrete grain storage in the form of five shipping bins, and 2,400-ton-per-hour shipping.
