The DLD 1/9 is a highly sensitive spark, ember and hot particle detector for protection against fire and explosion in industrial processes. Intelligent Detection Technology IDT® provides optimal detection performance for all ignition sources in any environment and enables the detector to distinguish between dangerous sparks and harmless ambient lightdue to leaky/damaged pipes or an opening of an inspection flap.
IDT® enables adjustable sensitivity for hot particle detection in high-temperature processes and is also used to prevent false alarms. Typical applications include pneumatic conveyor pipes, near inspection hatches, drop chutes and mechanical conveyors. The detector can be connected to every GreCon TOUCH control console using a standard three-core cable. A range of flexible mounting adapter options exist to suit any environment. The control console
interfaces with the detector for monitoring of ignition sources within the process, the configuration of detection parameters and automated check of the detector
optics’ correct function.
The system provides excellent preventive protection, as it does not wait for an actual fire or explosion to erupt. The system prevents the development of a fire or explosion by the early detection and elimination of the ignition source. With a GreCon system it is possible to detect and eliminate ignition sources before a fire or a dust explosion occurs. IR detectors monitor the conveying paths and activate high-speed water extinguishing within milliseconds. The diversion or shut-off of product flow is also an option if extinguishing with water is not possible for the application.
